These days, the term detoxification can be listened to ubiquitously and is often employed casually. However, understanding its real essence, what it means and how its potential can be harnessed can make a world of difference.

So, what does detoxification mean? Essentially, detoxification is healing and refers to the biological removal of poisons from the body. Daily, the liver, kidneys, and intestines' lymphatic systems work continuously for us. Then why is there the necessity to have an extra detoxification programme for the body?

We are exposed to many chemicals in our food supply, the air we breathe, cosmetics use daily, and other chemical agents in cleaning. Some of these are extremely harmful and can cause possible damage. To make the liver and kidneys more efficient, we can adopt some healthy practices, which subsequently help to flush the toxins out.

There are detox diets ranging from total starvation to juice fasts to food modification approaches and often involve using laxatives, diuretics, vitamins, minerals and ‘cleansing foods”. These all subject the body to undue pressure and work only for the moment being.

Detox diets may hardly limit power and nutrient information, posing different risks to your fitness. Some classes of people should never do detox diets.

There is no medical examination which can help this approach, though.

Then what should be done?

Detoxification should be a lifestyle change that focuses more on eating clean food. It results in the purification of the body, feeding and restoring it. One should first focus on reducing the toxin load on the body and then eating such foods that can provide healthy nutrients that will help refuel the body.

The focus should be to detox all parts of life.

These toxins are usually the reason for stalled weight loss in spite of exercise and the right diet. So, adopting the right program can boost one’s health and help one lose weight. It will also make one sense happier and more beneficial from within.

Detoxification is required if you are mourning from the following:

  • Unexplained Fatigue
  • Poor gastrointestinal elimination
  • Blemishes and irritated skin
  • Allergies
  • Signs of poor immunity, like repeated infections
  • Puffy eyes
  • Acidity and bloating
  • Continuous disturbed attention
  • Irritated mind
  • Frequent mood upsets
  • Emotionally unstable, depressed, unmotivated and lacking power and confidence for life

All these are signs of correcting the power of our body. Giving your body a pure, healthy diet is a method of self-cleansing and self-healing. Our physical and mental health reflects what we give to the body.

In the coming week, we shall notice how to create a Detox schedule and ways to wash your body.
